Carl Severson
Networked Health BC, Co-Chair
Carl is an obstetrician and gynecologist who lives and works in the rural and remote Canadian North where he sees and experiences how our current suboptimal approach to health data effect people negatively every day. He has a deep interest in data standards, terminologies, and the other technical nuts and bolts that are necessary for the coherent design and use of health data that was informed by his experiences with the Web and Free and Open Source Software in the late 90s. He also has an emerging interest in health data governance structures and policy at the national and international level. When not doing clinical work, he spends part of his time working in clinical informatics at a regional / local level.
