On February 4, 2026, the Government of Canada introduced Bill S-5 (formerly Bill C-72), fulfilling the initial goal of our Renew 72 campaign. This legislation is a historic step toward ending fragmented data, and enabling your health information to follow you wherever you go in Canada.
