British Columbia Learnings from the Disconnected Care Report
Across Canada, siloed and inaccessible health data continues to hinder patient care and healthcare delivery. Building on the findings of Alberta's Disconnected Care Report, this new publication highlights 12 key recommendations to assist British Columbia as it develops new health information legislation. Recommendations focus on shifting from traditional "custodian" models to strategic data stewardship, embedding Indigenous data sovereignty, establishing a statutory "duty to share," and guaranteeing digital rights for patients.
